Amos was born in Taiwan, grew up in Illinois, and developed a passion for proclaiming the Gospel and its full implications during his undergraduate and medical education at Northwestern University. While in medical school, Amos received seminary training at Moody Theological Seminary and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School while serving in youth, college, and young adult ministry at Evangelical Formosan Church—Chicago and Moody Memorial Church under Dr. Erwin Lutzer. He then moved to the Los Angeles area in 2006 to pursue his residency training in anesthesiology.

While in Los Angeles, Amos completed his Masters of Divinity at The Masters Seminary while also serving as a deacon at Grace Community Church and as a staff undershepherd at its Crossroads Bible study at UCLA (Grace on Campus). Within a couple years of arriving in L.A., Amos met his future wife Emily. The two were married in 2011 and then moved to the Bay Area in 2012 to help plant New Life Community Church.

Amos serves as New Life’s Lead Pastor while also working as an anesthesiologist and is an enthusiastic advocate of bi-vocational ministry, understanding that to be the biblical, apostolic, and early church’s practice of ministry. His ministry passions include comprehensive discipleship and training Christians to think biblically, discerningly, intelligently, and practically. Amos also completed his Doctor of Ministry at Talbot School of Theology. Amos and his wife Emily are the proud parents of three daughters and a son.
