Honduras Missions Trip 2013

Overview

In August 2013, New Life Community Church sent a short-term medical missions team to Tegucigalpa, Honduras to serve with World Gospel Outreach in this city and country that so desperately needed the Gospel of Christ. Under the supervision of American and Honduran medical professionals, our team provided compassionate medical, dental, pharmacy, optometric, and physical therapy services while also sharing the Gospel with each patient.

Earthquake in Honduras.

We know that some of you who had loved ones on our Honduras missions team are understandably concerned about the earthquake that struck in Honduras just before 1 PM yesterday. We actually were at the airport at that time waiting for our delayed flight, but the earthquake was fairly small in magnitude (4.6 on the Richter scale) and located 150 miles..

Safely back! Update, 8/24/13.

Just a short note at this time to assure everyone that almost all of us (61 out of 63 members of the team) are safely back in California, Michigan, or Oregon. Our flight out of Honduras was delayed by over two hours, threatening to cause us to miss our connecting flights in Houston. Fortunately, in Honduras, the combination of some frantic running ..

We visited Rancho Ebenezer, which is World Gospel Outreach's "comprehensive life development program for children and adolescents...who do not have a family able to care for them and provide for their needs." Although such children often are foun..

Hola! My name is Nathan Kim from the L.A. portion of the team. I just wanted to share a little bit of my experiences today and what God has shown me. I was excited for today because I was signed up to do children’s ministry for my morning shift. People in the children’s ministry serve in a variety of ways. One way is by sharing the gospel th..

Hello America! It’s been two and a half days since we’ve left. It feels like we’ve been in Honduras for more than a week – and we’ve hardly just begun! Today was pretty much AMAZING. Both the Irvine and LA teams had the privilege of going to the two churches that they would be serving, respectively. We were able to worship alongside th..

Update, 8/17/13

Hi everyone! Our team safely arrived in Honduras this morning around 11am. It was honestly a rough night for many of us as we stayed the night in Texas and had to wake up early in order to make our flight today. I personally woke up at 4:30am after a pretty much sleepless night. The hotel staff very graciously served us breakfast starting at 5am..
